Two races, one trip: the best cross-series pairings for 2027

14 min read

Yes, you can see two series on one trip in 2027. The easiest pairing is the Monaco Grand Prix (4–6 June) followed by the 24 Hours of Le Mans (race 12–13 June), with six days in between [1][6]. Other strong pairings are MotoGP at Mugello or Formula E at Brands Hatch before Monaco, F1 at Monza then MotoGP at Misano, and Canada, the Indy 500 and Detroit in North America.

We checked every date against official calendars on 31 Oct 2026. F1, WEC and IndyCar dates are official. Every MotoGP and Formula E date is provisional, so book refundable where you can. Not sure which series to start with? Read Which motorsport race should you go to first?.

The quick answer: the best two-race trips in 2027

"Free days" means the days between the first event's race day and the start of the second event. The ranking and "best for" notes are our editorial judgement.

Europe in late May and June: Mugello, Brands Hatch, Monaco and Le Mans

This is the densest stretch of the 2027 calendar, and the best one for a multi-race trip.

Monaco F1, then Le Mans

Can I go to the Monaco Grand Prix and Le Mans on the same trip in 2027? Yes. The Monaco Grand Prix runs 4–6 June, with the race on Sunday 6 June, and it's Monaco's first Sprint weekend [1][2]. The 24 Hours of Le Mans starts at 16:00 on Saturday 12 June and finishes on Sunday 13 June, within an event week of 9–13 June [6][7][8]. That leaves almost a week to travel north through France, and you can compare train and coach times from the Riviera to Le Mans on Omio (affiliate). The Le Mans test day on 6 June [9] does overlap with the Monaco race, but that only matters to the teams, not spectators.

General ticket sales for Le Mans open at 10:00 on Friday 6 November 2026, after an ACO members' pre-sale from 3 November [11]. The official "Week pass" (full-week admission) is €126 full rate (official price, checked 31 Oct 2026) [11]. Monaco is the more expensive half of this trip, in our judgement. Monaco hotels are scarce and costly on race weekend, so consider staying along the coast. See the Monaco Grand Prix and 24 Hours of Le Mans race pages and the Monaco grandstands.

Start with MotoGP at Mugello or Formula E at Brands Hatch

You can add a race the weekend before Monaco, but you'll have to choose. MotoGP's Italian Grand Prix at Mugello (28–30 May, provisional) [10] and Formula E's London E-Prix at Brands Hatch (29–30 May, provisional) [12][13] fall on the same weekend.

  • Mugello suits fans coming from mainland Europe. Tuscany to Monaco is a short hop along the coast, in our judgement, and MotoGP is the clearest contrast to F1. See the Mugello race page.
  • Brands Hatch suits UK readers. It's a double-header in Kent, about 30 minutes outside London [14], and you'd fly to Nice for Monaco afterwards. See our Formula E series page.

The three-week, three-series run

If you have three weeks, you can do Mugello (28–30 May, provisional), then Monaco (4–6 June), then Le Mans (12–13 June) [1][6][10]. That's MotoGP, F1 and WEC with five and six free days between them. It's the most ambitious trip on this page, and it's only worth it if you enjoy long trips. One event of the three is provisional, so keep that booking refundable.

Summer in the Netherlands and central Europe: Zandvoort, Assen, Silverstone and Sachsenring

Zandvoort then Assen. Formula E's first race at Zandvoort (18–19 June, provisional) [12] is followed a week later by MotoGP's Dutch TT at Assen (25–27 June, provisional) [10]. Both are in the Netherlands, so you can travel between them by train without flying (our judgement). Both dates are provisional, though, so this is the riskiest pairing to book early. The site has no Zandvoort race page yet. See the Dutch TT race page.

Silverstone, then pick one. After the British Grand Prix (2–4 July, Sprint) [1][2], two options run the following weekend: MotoGP at the Sachsenring in eastern Germany (9–11 July, provisional) [10] or the F1 Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring (9–11 July) [1]. You can't do both. They're on the same weekend, not back to back. Some AI-generated answers currently describe them as back to back. They aren't. The WEC 6 Hours of São Paulo is also on 9–11 July [5]. Pick the Sachsenring for a cross-series trip, or Austria for an F1 double. See the British GP, German MotoGP and Austrian GP race pages, plus the Silverstone and Red Bull Ring grandstand guides.

September in Italy: Monza, then Misano

The Italian Grand Prix at Monza runs 3–5 September and is a Sprint weekend [1][2]. MotoGP's San Marino Grand Prix at Misano, on the Adriatic coast, follows on 10–12 September (provisional) [3][10]. Both are in northern Italy, so this is an easy rail trip in our judgement, with a week by the sea in between.

The catch is that Misano's weekend also clashes with F1's Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid (10–12 September) [1] and WEC's Lone Star Le Mans at COTA (10–12 September) [5]. If you were planning Monza then Madrid for an F1 double, you can't add Misano too. See the Italian GP and San Marino MotoGP race pages and Monza grandstands.

North America: Canada, the Indy 500 and Detroit

What's the best US two-race trip in 2027? In our judgement, it's the Indy 500 on Sunday 30 May [15] paired with the Detroit Grand Prix on 4–6 June [17], or with F1 in Canada the weekend before. That gives you three series' worth of racing in under three weeks:

  • F1 Canadian Grand Prix, Montréal: 21–23 May (Sprint) [1][2]
  • 111th Indianapolis 500: Sunday 30 May. Carb Day is Friday 28 May and Legends Day is Saturday 29 May [15][16].
  • Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix (IndyCar): 4–6 June, with races on Sunday 6 June. Friday 4 June is free "Free Prix Day" [17].

Indianapolis and Detroit are both in the US Midwest, so the second leg is short. Montréal adds a border crossing. See the Canadian GP, Indy 500 and Detroit GP race pages and Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve grandstands.

Spring: Long Beach, Austin and Miami

The second US option runs in April. IndyCar's Long Beach street race is on Sunday 18 April [18], MotoGP at Circuit of the Americas, Austin, is on 23–25 April (provisional, and listed as "subject to contract") [3][10], and F1's Miami Grand Prix is on 30 April – 2 May [1]. It covers three series in three weekends, but the Austin round isn't contracted yet, so don't build the trip around it until it is. See the Long Beach and MotoGP Americas race pages and COTA grandstands. The site has no Miami race page yet.

Weekends that clash in 2027 (so you can only pick one)

The biggest clash is 28–30 May. For a first-timer it's a three-way choice between the US, Italy and Kent.

Pairings that look close but aren't one trip

  • F1 at Silverstone (2–4 July) and MotoGP at Silverstone (13–15 August, provisional) [1][10]. It's the same circuit, but six weeks apart, so it's two trips. It works as "a Silverstone summer" for UK readers.
  • Monaco E-Prix (1–2 May, provisional) and Monaco F1 (4–6 June) [1][12]. They're five weeks apart. The E-Prix moved to 1–2 May in Formula E's calendar update; the first provisional calendar had listed it for 15–16 May [12][19].
  • Monaco Historic Grand Prix: there is no Monaco Historic Grand Prix in 2027. The event is held every two years. The Automobile Club de Monaco says "See you in 2028!", and the 2026 edition ended on Sunday 26 April 2026 [20]. Third-party sites disagree on the 2028 dates, so we aren't printing one.

How to plan a two-race trip

This section is our editorial judgement.

  • Fly open-jaw. Fly into the city nearest the first race and home from the one nearest the second, so you don't backtrack. Search flights.
  • Keep a buffer day. Don't book a departure for the night of a race. Circuit traffic after the chequered flag is slow everywhere.
  • Book refundable while dates are provisional. That covers every MotoGP and Formula E date here, and MotoGP Austin in particular. Use hotels with free cancellation where you can.
  • Check session times when they're out. No series has published 2027 session times yet, so confirm that nothing you want to see overlaps your travel.
  • Plan ground transport early. Rural circuits (Le Mans, Mugello, Assen, the Sachsenring) need shuttles, hire cars or camping. See transport. For the rail or coach leg between two European races, compare times and fares on Omio (affiliate).

Then line the events up on the race calendar or the race map, and compare them in the compare tool. We don't sell tickets. Buy from each event's official ticket office.

Before you go

  • Mobile data. A two-race trip often crosses borders, so check your roaming allowance for each country, or, if your phone supports eSIM, set one up for the countries you're visiting from a provider such as Airalo (affiliate).
  • Packing. Pack for two different weekends: a rural circuit means long walks, sun and rain, while Monaco is a city break. If you want team kit for an F1 leg, the F1 Store (affiliate) sells official merchandise.

FAQ

Can I see two different race series on one trip in 2027? Yes. The easiest pairing in 2027 is the Monaco Grand Prix (4–6 June) followed by the 24 Hours of Le Mans (race 12–13 June), with six days in between. Other strong pairings are MotoGP at Mugello (28–30 May, provisional) or Formula E at Brands Hatch (29–30 May, provisional) before Monaco, and F1 at Monza (3–5 September) then MotoGP at Misano (10–12 September, provisional). In North America, try the Canadian Grand Prix (21–23 May), the Indy 500 (30 May) and the Detroit Grand Prix (4–6 June). MotoGP and Formula E dates are still provisional, so book refundable where you can.

Can I go to the Monaco Grand Prix and Le Mans on the same trip in 2027? Yes. In 2027 the Monaco Grand Prix runs 4–6 June, with the race on Sunday 6 June. The 24 Hours of Le Mans starts at 16:00 on Saturday 12 June and finishes on Sunday 13 June (event week 9–13 June). That leaves almost a week to travel north through France. General Le Mans ticket sales open on Friday 6 November 2026.

Which 2027 race weekends clash, so I can't do both? The biggest clash is 28–30 May, when the Indy 500, MotoGP at Mugello and Formula E at Brands Hatch fall on the same weekend. F1 in Austria and MotoGP at the Sachsenring share 9–11 July. F1 in Madrid, MotoGP at Misano and the WEC race at Austin share 10–12 September. Le Mans (9–13 June) overlaps with MotoGP in Catalunya (11–13 June), F1 Miami overlaps with the Monaco E-Prix (30 April – 2 May), WEC Spa overlaps with MotoGP at Le Mans (13–16 May), and F1 Austin clashes with MotoGP Malaysia (22–24 October). All MotoGP and Formula E dates are provisional.

What's the best US two-race trip in 2027? In our judgement, it's the Indy 500 (Sunday 30 May) followed by the Detroit Grand Prix (4–6 June). Add F1 in Montréal (21–23 May) if you want a third race. A spring alternative is Long Beach (18 April), MotoGP Austin (23–25 April, provisional, subject to contract) and F1 Miami (30 April – 2 May).

Is there a Monaco Historic Grand Prix in 2027? No. It's held every two years, and the Automobile Club de Monaco says the next edition is in 2028.

How far apart do two races need to be to do both comfortably? In our judgement, a full week apart, meaning consecutive weekends, is the comfortable minimum. That gives you a buffer day on each side and time to travel. Two events on the same weekend can't be combined, however close the venues are.
